This lesson was really simple and the only trouble I had was setting up my account.

Thing #13 Social Bookmarking/Tagging
A social bookmarking manager like Del.icio.us is a great way to create bookmarks, not only for your personal use but for helping library patrons with research assistance.

MySpace for Parents Workshop
While working on my SAPL Learns- 23 Things assignment for Week 6, I came across the following blog titled "Youth Tech - MySpace handouts". While checking out the blog I came across a printout titled "MySpace for Parents Workshop". The authors Jesse and Matt (Sr. Library Asst. & Technology Education Librarian respectively) who work for the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, offer an interesting and informative handout concerning facts, links, and information regarding MySpace, geared towards parents of teens. I found it to be very informative and interesting! Check out the handout at http://youthtech.files.wordpress.com/2006/10/myspace-for-parents-brochure.doc
I am scheduled to give a class to parents on "CyberSafety" here at Bazan in January 2009. It might be cool to throw in a little information about MySpace also. What do you think?

ROLLYO ROCKS!!!
Rollyo was easy to setup and I now have a dozen of my favorite rock and roll websites in one search engine. Try it out. Just type in anything rock and roll related. An artist, genre, or song. See what comes up.

Man's Best Friend

I created this image of my dog "Buddy" using an image generator called Big Huge Labs Motivator. It was super easy to create this motivational poster. It allows the creator to pick Fonts, title, subtitle and colors. Pretty cool ay?

NAMING YOUR BAND
Naming your band is a very important decision, for a number of reasons. First of all, your band is your brand, and having a memorable or interesting name might give you a slight edge in a very saturated market. Also, it’s important to ensure that nobody else is using your name already, as this can lead to legal troubles should you ever rise to prominence later on. But if you’re stuck in a creative rut trying to come up with that memorable moniker, here are a couple of suggestions...

Try Some Anagram Magic
If you want to mix things up, why not try this useful online anagram tool? Simply enter your name into the box and it will shuffle the letters into a list of viable anagrams. Unless your name is Bono, there’s bound to be a few gems coming out the other end.
http://wordsmith.org/anagram/index.html
I am quite pleased to note that ‘Dan Foley’ generates such delights as ‘Day Felon’, ‘Anode Fly’ and ‘Leafy Nod’. The anagram generator also had success with ‘Canabrism’ - this seed provided ‘Brain Scam’, ‘Mars Cabin’ and the reassuringly noble ‘Ban Racism’.
Searching For A Band Name
Over on the Linkdisco site you can find some suggestions about using Web search to find a band name. This technique is well worth considering because it can reveal a name that not only is interesting but also valuable in terms of search traffic. And who wouldn’t want to be in a band that’s popular before it even exists? http://linkdisco.com/bandname-research
